Overview

Designed to provide the help you need to progress onto a university-level course, this Access To Higher Education Diploma in Engineering will you give a wide range of foundation skills and knowledge so that you can meet the demand for skilled engineers in a variety of fields, and enjoy a lifelong career in the industry.

You’ll study a number of different units in Maths and Physics, focusing on topics that include differentiation, AC waveforms, electromagnetic Induction and applied electronics. You’ll also learn about the properties of matter as well as developing skills in the use of number and algebra.

This diploma will also develop your personal skills too, with a focus on the use of word processing programmes, spreadsheets and other advanced ICT techniques to give you an additional advantage when securing a job in this sector.

If you’d like to apply for this course, you should have a GCSE in English at grade C/4 or above, and a Maths GCSE at grade C/4 or above. It would also be helpful to have a GCSE in Physics or Core plus Additional Science at a grade C/4 or higher. We will also accept IELTS at 6.5 or above with no aspect under 6.0 in place of GCSE English. Prospective students should check the entry requirements of their preferred university to ensure the best possible opportunity for progression.

Assessments for this course will differ depending on the unit, but will include a variety of practical assignments, set tasks and written exams.
