Nursing and Midwifery (Distance Learner Programme)
Access to Higher Education Diploma
If a career in nursing has always been your dream, but you don’t currently have the qualifications needed to apply for a degree level course, then this Access to Higher Education Diploma in Nursing and Allied Health Professions could be just what you need.
You’ll look at a diverse range of subjects within this field, focusing on core modules in Psychology, Biology and Sociology.
Alongside the medical aspects of the course, you’ll also spend time looking at the social side of health care, including how to look after different types of people effectively, and how to deal with equality and diversity in the workplace. Each will give you a core understanding of essential medical topics, while also helping you to focus on Nursing as an important and varied discipline. As you increase your experience, you’ll be building a solid foundation of topical knowledge for midwife degree programmes.
You’ll also develop all the skills you’ll need for success at university too, including essay writing, research and time management. This will ensure you’ll be fully prepared to continue your journey and face any challenge as you advance onto a higher-level course.
You will study in the comfort of your own home using online materials. You’ll be supported through your studies with guided tutor tutorials and discussion forums with a peer group.
