Student Life

We have 11 UCEN Manchester libraries across nine campuses, offering more than 700 study spaces. Our libraries stock the books and resources you’ll need to help you through your studies with a range of flexible opening times.

We hold an expansive range of more than 100,000 physical titles across all of our subject areas and also have a large collection of online resources, including professional and academic journals, as well as specialist subject materials.

All of our resources are easily found using our Discover tool, which offers students a quick way to search for the item they need.

As well as reading materials, our libraries also offer access to an archive of more than 2 million TV and radio broadcasts, the knowledge hub for the social care sector CareKnowledge, the Construction Information Service (IHS), legal research resource LexisNexis and best practice tool for studying Skills4StudyCampus.

You can access our online resources 24-hours-a-day and our dedicated library staff are available to assist you with any enquiries during the day. We also offer introductory workshop sessions to help you find your way around and another session focused specifically on the subject you’re studying.
