Student Life

This is an exciting time for our Students’ Union (SU) here at UCEN Manchester.

Our SU Constitution is based on the passions, ideas and views of our students, and it is here to provide everyone with great opportunities to meet new people, get involved in events and make the most of your time at UCEN Manchester.

The students who run the SU are elected each year, and it’s their job to represent the voice of their peers, run events and enrichment activities, and provide opportunities for you to develop skills and talents.

Ways to get involved

There are lots of ways you can get involved with the Students’ Union at UCEN Manchester…

  • Join one of our many SU societies
  • Become an elected student representative
  • Become a blogger for our internal student website or submit stories to our newsletter
  • Volunteer at our higher education events such as Freshers’ Week and the annual Student Conference

Hi, my name is Oliver Moss and I am the new Student Union President. I studied FdA Public Services and Social Justice here at UCEN Manchester and thoroughly enjoyed my time as elected student rep. I am now looking forward to continuing my commitment to students, leading the development of the Student Union.

Oliver Moss, Student Union President, UCEN Manchester

I previously worked alongside members of parliament for Manchester, which inspired me to work in partnership with the college for the student voice. I see this year as a vital opportunity for us to work together and I am excited to support the shaping of our SU. I especially look forward to developing new societies, creating new events, selling NUS cards and offering drop in sessions to all students across campuses, as well as working alongside our vital SU officers.

Please feel free to contact me with your ideas and suggestions, if you would like to register your interest in becoming an SU officer, or simply to discuss anything Student Union!
