Student Life

UCEN Manchester is part of Greater Manchester Higher, a unique group of universities and further education colleges from across the region. Together, we’re working to provide high quality outreach activities for local schools and colleges as part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England

GM Higher aims to improve the provision of information, advice and guidance about progression routes to higher education (HE) and improved information about the variety of HE options for learners and their key influencers.

We work closely with this team to ensure we support teachers, educators and careers advisors from schools, sixth forms, academies and more, to ensure they deliver the most useful and relevant information to students from Year 8 to Year 13.

We work in close collaboration with our dedicated Careers & Welfare team who provide specialist support, advice and guidance on a wide range of issues, concerns and worries. They can help with just about any problem you might be facing or anything you’re not sure about. They are an ear to listen and a fountain of knowledge and advice, whether you want to talk about personal and family issues or find out how to reach your future goals.

National Education Opportunities Network (NEON): This organisation supports those involved in widening access to higher education.

Higher Education Liaison Officer Association: this is the professional association of higher education staff and our members provide guidance, information and outreach activities toi higher education students, their families and guidance advisors throughout the UK.
